What is the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive<\/h3>\n

The UK government introduced the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (Domestic RHI) as an incentive to encourage homeowners to switch to installing renewable heating systems. The scheme is designed to promote the use of naturally replenishable energy and reduce the total carbon emissions produced by UK households.<\/p>\n

The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive rewards properties which follow the guidelines set out for renewable heating installations by offering payments to homeowners for seven years on a quarterly basis for the amount of green energy that they produce.<\/p>\n

Who qualifies for Domestic RHI?<\/h3>\n

There are two schemes available under the Renewable Heat Incentive; for Domestic and Non Domestic property owners. If your household meets the requirements to join either scheme, you will be rewarded for the amount of renewable energy that you produce.<\/p>\n

The Domestic RHI: <\/strong>To join the Domestic RHI scheme you will need to have proved that your property is a domestic dwelling and that your heating system is providing energy for a single property. To qualify under these conditions you need to obtain a domestic Energy Performance Certificate<\/a> (EPC).<\/p>\n

The Non-Domestic RHI: <\/strong>For renewable heating systems that provide energy for public, industrial or commercial properties, you can apply to join the Non-Domestic RHI. Non-domestic premises include heating systems which heat more than one home, small and large businesses and public buildings such as schools or hospitals.<\/p>\n

What payments can I receive as part of the Domestic RHI?<\/h3>\n

If your domestic household has switched to a renewable heating system that uses an energy source that is naturally replenished, you could receive government payments to help them meet their carbon reduction targets.<\/p>\n

If you are considering installing one of the following renewable heating systems, you may be able to earn a government payment for the energy you produce:<\/p>\n
